Highly recommend! Found Book # 1 in a freebie box at a consignment store... I wasn't thrilled because of the Dragon on the front and typically steer away from stuff like that, but I figured my son wouldn't be into it so allowed him to take it. We live an hour away from the bookstore and he had started it on way home. My 12 year old son, read the whole first book (398 pgs appx.) in 3 days!!!! I researched the author and found there were 3 more and have been purchasing them for him. He loves them and they are very well written. The fact that he is picking them up on his own to read is a huge plus for me!

This was a great book! I am cursed with the ability to read very quickly, therefore I REALLY appreciate lengthy, meaty books and this series fits the bill. I also really enjoy dragon and fantasy books that aren't all fluff, but also do not delve into the dark realms. This book is a great read for anyone who enjoys fantasy, adventure, and excitement!

For anyone who started reading the series about dragons by Bryan Davis it is apparent that the second book is just as engaging and amazing as the first one. It may be written for the young adults buy I have to admit that it's very fascinating for regular adults, too!
THIS IS LITERALLY THE 2ND BEST BOOK IVE EVER READ (MY FIRST FAVORITE IS THE 1ST BOOK IN THIS SERIES)..I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT IM A CHRISTIAN SO IM GLAD THIERS A CHRISTIAN SEIRES AROUND. ITS A THRILLER,DRAMA,FANTASY,FICTION ETC. THIS BOOK IS A CLASSIC IN MY OPINION YET ITS NOT CLASSIFIED AS ONE. I LIKE LONG BOOKS AND THIS ONE IS 416 PAGES. IT DEFINITELY KEPT ME READING AND I NEVER WANTED TO PUT IT DOWN. I bought this book for my daughter who had plowed through all the Harry Potter books and feared she would never like another book compared to JK Rowling's wonderful series. She was captivated by the Candlestone and all of the Dragons in our Midst books. Since then I have read the book too and am thrilled with the positive Christian message entwined in a powerful adventure filled with tension and action. Since then we have purchased a whole set of these books for my children's school library, where they are being checked out like hotcakes. This is also an AR book, so Accelerated Reader kids can earn points while being mesmerized by Davis' storytelling and learning more about the Lord.
This is an interesting book I love dragons and to know that I have always wanted to become a reader this was a great series to have been a great decision for me. I’m hooked. This book would be excellent Choice series for a young child to grasp. Looking forward to dig into the authors other series. If time allowed me I could read two books a day just unable to put down.
I bought this book after reading Raising Dragons (Dragons in Our Midst, Book 1). The great story continues with Billy, Bonnie, and friends against Devin. This book is for young readers, but I couldn't put it down. I got into the story pretty easily and enjoyed the tension, the fight scenes, and the friendship that develops in these books.
Whatever your age, these are great books! Start with the first and and you won't want to stop!
My kids, ages 5, 7, 8, and 10 absolutely love this series. We've been working through this series as our summer read-aloud. I can honestly say I didn't intend to be reading ALL Dragons in our Midst...but when they loved the first so much, I just ran with it. I love when they love something SO much. It's not the easiest series to understand, and has taken quite a bit of discussion and explanation...but all worth it. I find the Christian/faith aspect to be weak, but as THAT is not the reason we were reading it, I haven't been disappointed. They literally beg for "just one more chapter."
